FAQ

Q: The App is crashing
A: The Partnerunner App has been battle tested and the most likely reason for the problem is an issue on the user device. The first thing to do is follow the Apple guidelines that can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1702

Q: New issues of The Partnerunner are not being delivered automatically
A: We love Apple but even they are not perfect. Push Notifications are awesome but sometimes your ipad can drop the push notification connection. Weird but it happens. What you can do is to turn off wifi, turn on Airplane mode, then reconnect to wifi. Something else you can try is to connect to another wifi network for a while and then switch back to your normal network. Restarting your iPad can also sometimes help.

Q: How do I take a screenshot with my iPad
A: Simply click on the Home Button and the Power Button at the same time

Q: How can I (a subscriber) cancel my Partnerunner subscription?
A: Here are the steps, Tap on Settings App, Scroll and tap on Store, scroll down and tap on your Apple ID, Then tap on “View Apple ID”, Enter your password, scroll down and tap on Manage in the Subscriptions section, You will see your magazine subscriptions. Tap on the one you want to cancel. Your current subscription details will be shown. Turn auto-renewal to OFF.

Q: How does the purchase process work?
A: As an App user you can either subscribe to the magazine or you can buy single issues. If you subscribe (Auto-Renewal) you will get the latest magazine issue published and will have access to any future issues as long as you remain a subscriber. If you purchase a single issue, you will be able to download that issue immediately after the successful purchase.

Q: How do Special Issues Work?
A: Special Issues are different. Special issues are not included in the normal Partnerunner Magazine subscription. Special Issues are independent to uour subscription and everyone including, Partnerunner Magazine Subscribers, must purchase them. Special issues have a red “Special” sash and will appear below the top section in the magazine home screen.
Special issues are a fantastic way for us to provide content and programs that go way beyond what is traditionally provided in a magazine. Special issues allow us to provide you with unique content beyond your subscription.

Q: Do I need an Internet Connection to read The Partnerunner?
A: It depends, on the content within each issue. You can read text & Images without any online connection. However an internet connection is required to watch video and access links to web based material.

Q: Why are some audio files included as videos in The Partnerunner?
A: The Magazine support any html5 element but we prefer to add a few pictures and convert the audio to video as it looks much better.

Q: Which version of iOS is supported?
A: The Partnerunner App uses the awesome Newsstand functionality that was introduced by Apple in iOS 5, all users need to have iOs 5 or higher to be able to use Newsstand.

Q: Is there an iPhone version of The Partnerunner Magazine and Partnerunner App?
A: At this point the focus is on the iPad version only of the magazine. The reality is that very few users like to read a magazine in the tiny iPhone screen. The iPad screen real estate makes your magazine pop. An iPhone version might be considered in the future, stay tuned.
We are working on an iPhone App for Partnerunning but not The Partnerunner Magazine.

Q: I am getting a “Cannot connect to itunes Store” when clicking on the subscribe button or buy button.
A: This can happen in the following situations: You do not have wifi or internet access, or your iPad has “Restrictions ON” to prevent others from making purchases in the iPad. Restrictions are located on the general settings and should be disabled to allow inApp purchases.

Q: I cannot open The Partnerunner App. It just closes immediately when reaching the Splash page.
A: This was a bug found in version 2.4.1 and is already fixed in the next version 2.7.1. It happens when your iPad has the clock set as 12 hour format and possibly using a language other than English. When you install the app and open it the very first time then this error can occur. To solve it in version 2.4.1 you need need to have your clock set as 24hour format (you can do this in the General settings, under date & time) and open the magazine. After that, if you want, you can change the clock back to 12 hour format.

Q: My problem is not listed here, what can I do?
A: The Partnerunner App is quite stable and is constantly being battle tested. As with everything there might be some special cases not yet discovered. If you are having issues not listed here then please send us your ipad crash logs. To do this:

  1. Go to the settings icon on your iPad;
  2. Click on general;
  3. Click on About;
  4. Click on “Diagnostic & Usage”; and,
  5. Click on “Diagnostic & Usage Data”.

There will be a list with different types of error logs from the iPad. Find the error logs for The Partnerunner Magazine and tap on the entry to see all the details. You can then press and hold and choose the “Select All” option that will appear and then click on “Copy”

You can simply paste the log you have just copied in the support form below and send it to us. Please submit one form per error log and also provide any other information in the space provided.
It is especially important you tell us the exact steps you take to get the error as well as their iPad setting so that the team can try to replicate the error. If an error can be replicated it can be fixed!
